ATI X700 PCI-E Video cut out
Alright, I took a peek around, but didn't see anything that seemed to be similar... So here's my problem:
I've got a Koolance Liquid Cooled case ASUS P5GDC-V Deluxe MOBO Intel 3.8 GHZ LGA 775 ATI Radeon X700 PCI-E video card using dvi to a brand new View Sonic VP201b LCD screen. I've spent a lot of time and money putting this piece together, and quite honestly, after all the crap that I had to fix, I damn well expect it to work fine. Alright, so for months now I've been using this computer, with no hardware changes, and pretty much no software changes, I downloaded the drivers that work. Now it's been working fine, but since winter has been ending, and the cool air hasn't been as plentiful, I've started seeing higher temperatures on my CPU therm... as high as 42-43 C... when playing games like HL2 and WoW. Now this only started happening recently, but my video card (I can only assume that is what is causing this) has been cutting out the image, primarily in video games, but more recently in regular windows. I rigged a fan and ducting to pull in cool air and pipe it directly through the liquid radiator and into the case... this has been keeping my computer at a comfortable 28C in windows, and as high as 35C in games. Thus, I've ruled out heat, since I didn't have this problem a while back when the case was hotter. Now, I wonder what the problem is that causes my video to cut out, sporadically... usually getting worse until it cuts off altogether and I have to reset. Any suggestions? -Lysol |
