Sad 9600 PRO - Every Game Freezes...

I just got my new Powercolor Radeon 9600 PRO 128mb video card, every game runs like a dream -- Except for one problem... After about 10-20 minutes of play (sometimes even less) the game freezes, sometimes the sound begins to loop -- And my computer doesn't respond and must be manually shut down (hold power button for 5 seconds). I dunno why this happens. I've tried downgrading my drivers, turning off fastwrite (which won't let me, BTW), turned off Write Combining -- BTW I don't overclock my card, it's at default settings.

How do I fix this? I want to play...

[Oh BTW, I want solutions that DON'T COST MONEY.]

It could be heat. Try opening the side and see if it improves. Or it could be not enough voltage to the AGP slot... try turning up the voltage in BIOS, usually its 1.55, try 1.6 maybe (Dont go over 1.6 though). You could also RMA it if the card is faulty. You might also try underclocking the card, might weed out of its the card or heat.

Try that out and see if that doesn't fix it

You said that you've tried turning off fastwrite but it won't let you, is the option in smartgart greyed out? If so then fastwrite is probably disabled in the BIOS, try enabling it in the BIOS and then again in smartgart. From memory my old 9600 pro (also a powercolour) only worked properly with fastwrites enabled.
