ATI 9800 Problem

Well about 2 months ago i started to have some weird graphic problem playing Tiger Woods 2005 whenever that problem started i could get rdi of it by doing a quick alt-tab then back into game but was getting pretty annoying, i started to mess up with the in game video option and at my big suprise it went away.

2 weeks ago i reinstalled Farcry and played for like 30 min and that same problem started, i was very pissed and uninstalled the game, last week BF2 demo came out and i was so pumped up about that game i install it and guess what same fucking thing happen, here is a list of thing i did.

1-I try like 5 differents drivers but no fix
2-remove the card, clean the fan
3-since i have only a 350PW i unplugged 2 devices in case it was a power problem, still no luck...
4-Did a fresh install of XP
5-Updated Bios

The funny thing is i play all the following game fine without any problem:

CS:S
Pariah
Tiger Woods 2005
SAWT 4
DOOM 3
NFS
GTA:SA

Here is some pic of what im talking about.

Have you checked the hardware using like ATI Tool or something to scan for artifacts at stock speeds? I would suggest checking for heat issues and perhaps voltage issues and overclocking issues.

System Specs

Looks like an overclocking/heat related problem, likely on the memory side of the graphics card. Try underclocking the card, or try it in another pc to see if the problem persists.

System Specs

Artifacts, Radeon x800 PRO.

As I just posted in the thread "Artifacts, Radeon X800 PRO" http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...7&page=1&pp=15

This was posted a few under this thread

I said:

"I have the same problem as ThomasMack on my other computer. My system is a Pentium 4 2.8 with a Built by ATI 9800 PRO 128mb card AGP. This happened to me a very long time ago and still is a problem today What I did to fix the problem was just to turn down my AGP to 4x and not 8x. I have tried many different driver sets ATI and Omega and nothing changes. I also have nothing over clocked and like the others say its not a heat issue and it's not a power issiue due to the fact that I just got a new ps and still does it only in AGP 8X. It looks like thomas's photo in every game that I play. BF 1942, Vietnam etc. Most of the time I will see that stuff on the screen and then my screen will just turn off or restart my computer. I have posted this a very long time ago and everyone was saying it was a heat problem but now that other people are getting this issiue I know it's not only me. If anyone could please figure out what the problem is that would be a great help to everyone who has this problem!

For starters I know it's:

Not my motherboard as I used a different one with the same problems
Not a heat problem
Not a power problem
Not a XP problem I did many fresh install's with XP and still the same problem
Don't think it's a Direct X problem becasue it happens on 8,9b, and 9C

So I am thinking its a problem with the card it self."

After turning off AGP 8X I forgot about this problem. Along with the other problem if you have read the other thread this also happens to me on my 9800 pro to But again turning my system down to AGP 4x seemed to do the trick but would like it to run at 8x.
