Running an AGP and a PCI card at the same time?
Ok well I have a X800XT PE agp card and would like to hook up 2 dvi lcds as I have stated in past posts. Im afraid I will want them both to be DVI, instead of one dvi and one vga. Right now selling my x800 is not an option, it's dear to me. So I think a good option may be to keep it and buy an ati 9250 pci card with dvi to run my second lcd.
My question is will this cause problems for my pc? Will the cards have different quality outputs with the color? Will this slow down my pc??? I dont plan on running games using the second monitor but I do plan on using aim, opera, windows media player and other programs on the pci card. Any suggestions on the best way of installing drivers? I am ussing CCC and will be using ultramon. Thanks! |

It should work just fine no matter what you do....but I don't know why you wouldn't just use analog?

Who knows, I might be just fine with analog, but I have heard the NEC 1980sxi panels are picky with the signal feeded to them and that DVI looks very good on it. Some people say DVI is the only way to go and that analog sucks, I for one have never seen a lcd using analog. The panel i use now looks amazing with DVI, I never ventured to try analog on it....
Buy yea of course I will try using my new monitors on analog when they come, but I would just like to know about using PCI just in case I cant stand it. |

Well for doing AIM and such it should be fine, for games I'd complain...but to be truthful I don't notice the difference and using the already available port on a single video card is far easier than dual video cards
