Installing NEW video card
I have downloaded you Driver cleaner pro and done as it said. When I go into my search and type in Ati it still brings up all kinds of drivers from my system 32 folder. I have tried deleting them manually and they just reappear when I search again. I have been trying to install my NEW video card for awhile now and I feel like my problem lies with not being able to uninstall all the drivers. My card is the 9200SE 128MB. I am trying to install this card Product DescriptionXFX Geforce 6600 - graphics adapter - GF 6600 - 256 MBDevice TypeGraphics adapterEnclosure TypePlug-in cardInterface TypeAGP 8xGraphics Processor / VendorNVidia GeForce 6600RAMDAC Clock Speed400 MHzAPI SupportedOpenGL 1.5, DirectX 9.0cVideo Memory Installed ( Max )256 MB - DDR SDRAMVideo Output2048 x 1536 / 85 HzMax Monitors Supported2TV InterfaceTV outhttp://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=306430&cks=PRL

I have replaced everything on my computer but the CPU and the VIDEO CARD. My computer has been rebooting for quite awhile now and we have detemined as suspected(after replacing a bunch of things) that the ATI card is the culprit. So now I am trying to put my NEW geforce in and when it loads up it shows the name of the card before the bios flashes up and then freezes on the WINDOWS XP loading screen. The WINDOWS XP turns a purplish tinge and that's it. I can hear it loading the desktop but I can't see it

Hmm sounds like it's time to do a format. You might try un-installing any video drivers, and getting it to boot off the generic windows drivers. Once you get to this point you can back up important items. It's a pain to reload but it may save you quite a bit of hassle.

You might get away with a DriverCleaner and Cab Cleaner run, if you manage to 100% uninstall EVERYTHING to do with video drivers.

I don't understand if you've used DHDC why you're still finding files. BTW, what ATI card did you have before? Also for ships & giggles you also might try reloading your AGP driver.

Ya Necrosis has the right idea, what you should do is uninstall your mobo chipset drivers along with your ati drivers to make sure things are gonna work properly.
1. Make sure you install the latest updates from Drivercleaner, there is an updates tab Tools > Live update. 2. Get into safemode and use Cab cleaner first, this is a program built into the drivercleaner program. 3. Then use drivercleaner and clean your chipset and ati drivers, I cannot stress this enough.. please make sure you read the "readme" before using drivercleaner, alot of people think that if it has ATI on it (like example ATI IGP ATA) that you need to clean these.. do NOT touch these. Spike has written a really good faq and tutorial on how to clean with the program so follow it and you won't have any problems. 4. It is also a good idea to get a program called RegCleaner this will verify for you if all the drivers have been removed from the registry, but just incase goto Run > Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software - HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software and make sure all entries pertaining to your chipset and ati drivers are completly gone. 5. Then when you get back in, install your chipset drivers first, then reboot. Then install your ati drivers and reboot. Do NOT install both at the same time. It is also good to get into your C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp and clean it out completely. If you don't see this folder then make sure you goto "Tools" in your C folder > Folder Options > View > and enable "show hidden files and folders". Hopefully this will fix your problem and just a tip for anyone else out there that wants to get into safemode without having to press your F8 key like crazy. Do this, goto Run > msconfig > look to the "BOOT.ini" and select /SAFEBOOT click apply and restart your computer, this will take you into safemode without going key crazy and then once you've done all you can for safemode due to uninstalling everything you go back into msconfig and hit the General tab and select the "Normal Startup" and restart and you are good to go! Cheers
