x800gt (12 pipes)

So today I saw for the first time a modded (4 pipelines unlock) x800gt being sold on one of the polish tweak forum markets (for additional 20% price). I don't have it personally in my hands (I bought standard x800gt 1 day earlier) so I can't tell anything myself. Or maybe I'm not writing anything new?

Anyway... I can't just wait for the omega 5.8 now!

System Specs

well there is the GTo comeing it has 12 pipes stock, as well as ageing vanillia X800's

12-pipe 3D engine with 256-bit memory interface
256MB variants will feature a 400MHz VPU core and 490MHz GDDR-3 frequency
128MB models will feature a 400MHz VPU core and 350MHz DDR-1 frequency

People have already tried and failed modding the GT thus far. IMO A guy selling
them on a forum is hardly news worthy

Maybe, but until it'll hit stores (in Poland)... he sold few of those cards so I wonder what's the chance to get one working.

And it 'll be good for those who already got their x800gt (like me)

Well since he didn't said a word (how?) it's not that big deal yet.

H3X4D3C1M4L will become famous soon enoughH3X4D3C1M4L will become famous soon enough

I dont know why ATI would purposely beat their own X800 Pro card...

I think they don't.
Well to stop the enthusiasm it's not a softmod so no Omega drivers will help you.

You have to solder the pins (LASER CUTed) shown on the picture. But electrical conductive lacquer may be better solution.
Good luck for the brave ones!
This won't work (at least it faild) for the cards, based on R480.
It was done on 3 Saphire x800gt (X800SE R423 chip) cards so far.

From what I read futher - x800gt's are based on R423 or R480 chips.
PITer wrote... "X800SE is the same as R423"

I'm gonna get my card tommorow and see myself.

Well a X800 is based on R300, so by what you saying a 9700 pro is like
a X800 . X800SE is 1 year old now the X800GT's just came out it the
with a diffrent core RXXX number so thier not the same chip. Even though
thier capabilitys may be simular...

I got my Saphire x800gt tooday.
Took out radiator and what I see... "x800se" marked chip - exactly the same as the one on the picture - with pretty bad laser cut in the upper left corner in my case.
And it's stained all over with heatsink now

I'm not ready to mod it myself yet - don't have exp in any hardmods neither I have the necessary tools.
But I will try myself next week probably.

X800 GT is R480 @ 0.11 Micron

X800SE is a R420 @ 0.13 Micron and being such just how the X800 pro
were modable it just as simple to mod the X800SE. Chageing the bios
or deviced ID won't make that any thing other ...

my point being you have a Moded X800SE not a modded X800GT

X800GT, not been modable, lest by no means found thus far , X850 series based

R420 X800SE CORE, known - modable , X800 series bases

Saphire x800gt's that are soild grail.pl (link) and from jes.com.pl (link) - and probably in few other stores (that has them already) are mostly based on x800SE chip.

So, Your point is they are x800 pro cards sold under different name?
Anyway they are sold cheaper - price is compared to 6600gt so they are worth all that money. So who cares...

(I will try on monday with those extra 4 pipes)
