What voltage line is x850XT PE using?

What voltage line does the X850XT PE use in the molex power connection to my power supply? 3.3?

Molex plugs supply +12 and +5. It would get the remainder of it from the AGP slot.

Ah, OK. So then the 3.3v line is that big connector that plugs directly into my motherboard? And therefore power everything plugged directly into the mb, such as AGP slot, PCI slots, memory, etc?

The reason I ask is that I can observe a noticeable 3.3v sag in MBM when I tax my system to the max via Prime95, and then observe another 3.3v sag when I tax my x850xtpe via a 3DView (from ATT or ATITool). But neglible impact on 5v and 12v. Does the card draw a constant v from the molex connection or only when it needs more power than the AGP slot can provide?

Thanks,
Steve

It shouldnt go down when in use either way, how far does it go down anyway?

System Specs

actually i think it does draw differently because of the throttling ati incorporated into r480 cards.if nothing else it will certainly draw more amps especially with the way the fan throttles causing necessity for better voltage...but ur powersupply should be picking up on this and adjust for it...if it is a strong/good enough power supply.

rofl fan's don't draw that much amperage. An 80 CM 80CFM delta fan draws 1 amp at full bore and its a beast of a fan.

Besides at full draw the card shouldn't destablize voltage lines if your power supply is any good

Well, my 3.3v dropped about .08v just by installing the x850XTPE. It drops another .05v when I stress out the card. And drops another .10v when I add Prime95 to maximize CPU and memory usage.

I have a good power supply -- Antec TrueControl 550W. It lets me fine tune the voltage levels on each line, and I have the 3.3v turned as high as it goes. Unfortunately, who know who accurate the readings are from my mb, so that's why I just use relative figures.

I would shy away from adjustable voltages....

Regardless it shouldn't do that
