X1800XL: No DVI in Windows, two unknown devices

Howdy folks!

Already any X1800XL users around here? Got mine yesterday and have two problems right from the start. Maybe someone here can help me out.

1. There's no DVI output once the Windows driver loads. I have attached a FPD using DVI, which works perfectly fine during BIOS/post test and also during the Windows loading animation. But in the moment when the Windows driver loads and the logon screen should appear, the FPD says "no signal". If it would receive an incompatible signal it would say "out of sync", but "no signal" really means "no signal". Using a VGA connection with the same FPD (has dual input) works fine.

Prior to the X1800XL I had a X800GTO which worked perfectly fine with DVI. Any suggestions about this?

2. Even after installing the driver (5.10a), I still have two "unknown devices" in device manager (I already do have the two driver instances "X1800" and "X1800 Secondary"). When I go into the properties of these devices, I can see that they belong to "Radeon X1800 Series". On the details tab where I can see the HW IDs of the devices, one is being reported as "NTATIVMD40" and the other one as "NTATIVRV40". Any idea what this is? I believe it could have something to do with the VIVO function of the card. Tried to "update driver" manually, but at least the drivers that are in the 5.10a package aren't recocnized.

Any help/hints would be highly appretiated. TIA!

edit: In the meantime I was able to solve my 2nd problem (the 2 unknown devices) on my own. As I already thought these are the WDM devices. The beta catalyst driver comes without WDM drivers, so I installed them from the "WDM" directory out of the catalyst 5.10 release. Worked like a charm - the two devices are now installed corretly and called "ATI WDM Rage Theatre Video NSP" and "ATI WDM Specialized MVD Codec".

But of course still no DVI...
