X1600XT retail is too be faster then preproduction review cards
Quote:
Looks like they are not too impressed with the peformance having said that no reviewer is either. This might be why ATi cancelled their orders for the RV530 and sent for new orders as they are changing the designs of the cards posiblily doubling the TMU's and adding a 256bit memory interface. Might also explain why it's quiet on that front. Hopefully it will be able to compete with the 6800GS but it will be a late compeditor. |

That would be a very wise move, I hope that it's true. The 1600xt as it stands, is totally overmatched by its competitors. I can't believe how many cards there are available at most price brackets now! It seems like older products aren't being fazed out very quickly.

I know ATi have just brought out the X1000 range cards and they are prepping for an other launch i think ATi have had the taste of the top with the 9700 cards they want to get it again but nVidia have wised up and the card wars is going to heat up even further like that is possible already lol. The 6800GS is a stop gap however till NV can get the 7200 and 7600 cards out. One thing i have noticed however is Crossfire work very well with HDR so thats a plus on ATi's side but lack of Master cards is hurting them
