Problem with Radeon 9000 on new P4 MB with integrated video
Hi, to everyone
I just upgraded to Mach Speed Matrix P4M800 Via Socket 478 $ Celeron D 2.93 Ghz 533 FSB this MB P4M800 has integrated video and an agp slot. With the integrated PCI video it is working ! I want to use it with my Gigabyte Radeon 9000 pro AGP card and the monitor doesn't power on. But the system beeps normally like in boot. With inproperly put AGP card it boots for a part of the second and shuts itself down, so its different ! I tried all posibilities including - Setting the AGP at 4x and 8x - Setting the Init Display First to be PCI or AGP - Running the computer with the AGP card inserted or without it - Connecting the monitor cable to either the built in video or the AGP card (the motherboard as far as I saw doesnt support disabling of the integrated video, no matter by bios or jumper) In all cases the system beeps normaly for booting up but when the monitor cable is connected to the AGP card it doesn't turn on at all. It turns on only if connected to the built in video card and AGP card removed (no matter if primary display is set to PCI or AGP) If AGP card is inserted the monitor doesnt turn on at all in all combinations (including primary display set to PCI and monitor connected to the built in video card) As I noticed all P4 chipsets run on AGP x 4 or AGP x 8 and with at least AGP x 4 supporting card My card - Gigabyte Radeon 9000 is x2 / x4 so it must work. But maybe when booting the card doesnt start at x4 ? Is it possible ? If I flash the bios of the video card will it help ? (The mboard doesnt have newer ver of the bios at all) I wrote to machspeed support but no response for now ... |

You should be able to disable the onboard video somehow, have you checked online documentation or the manufacturer's website's knowledge base?
