how to use?

[color=black]I have read the read me and stuff but i am still confused.

The problem: i had my old machine and i could run NS (A half-life mod) Fine, no lag, ran smooth. I got a new machine which is

[color=green]at least[/color]

twice or in some places triple as good. And now NS is running weird.
Computer specs:
MB: ECS P4M800-M7
Pro: Pent. 4 3.0ghzt

[color=red]Mem[/color]

:1gig 400mghz 3200

[color=red]Hd[/color]

:

[color=red]Seagate[/color]

300gig, 16md Cache

[color=red]Grphx[/color]

: ATI

[color=red]Radeon[/color]

9600XT VPU (

[color=red]Xtasy[/color]

) 325mhz core, AGP, 256mem, 128mem interface,

[color=red]memclock[/color]

: 300mhz (600mhz DDR)

Weird thing it says API supports DirectX9.0 , and

[color=red]OpenGL[/color]

Only thing changed in NS was the mode it use.

[color=red]Ns used to use Open Gl It[/color]

does not support Software and before it ran in now it runs [color=red]in like[/color] 3d3 or something.

I am getting like 30-60fps and i have less than 50 ping on servers with no loss or choke. I have [color=red]comcast[/color] digital 100mbs wired, 11mb wireless shared.

Its pissin me off because i improved my machine - why is it running worse. I can to this site because i was going to use your program but i [color=Black]don't[/color] know how to use it and my friend wont help me.

Switch back to OpenGL, HL1 (and it's mods) work much better in OGL than in D3D.

it says "video mode not supported" "now running in software mode" or something to that nature. Then when it tries software it wont work since NS does not support that, forcing me to use D3D. I dont know why since on the flap of my vid card it says "API Support: DirectX 9.0, OpenGL

update your video drivers, also some games will not run/cause issues with modded drivers using different OpenGL components

i am quiet sure all of my drivers are updated. it has been doing it since i installed all the new hardware ( i re placed all of my hardware with 3 days) and had the problem from normal (beginning) to real bad (changing new hardware in) to manageable (now). I will re log in as admin to run an update.

Do u think i need to use driver cleaner or what?

If you have a 9600XT why is your core only 325 MHz, it should be 500

That is what it says. I do not know much about the specific hardwares and stats of the Graphic Cards but i do know some.

what did you have before? what resoultion, in game settings, and control panel are you trying to play at?

Same Resolution:1280*960 (in game), 1280*1024 In windows
Image quality has no effect: either 16 or 32 Bit
Same brightness, gamma
Only difference is the hard ware, drivers, and game mode: Software, OpenGL, or D3D

Before it ran in OpenGL, since the mod does not support Software (except for menu - not gameplay) I had to use D3D. The grphx card SHOULD support OpenGL but it won't work. I checked for drivers and no differnce. Its sooo annoying - i more than doubled my computer and it runs Worse!

okay i talked to a friend. he said i might not have a good PSU (power supply unit)
he said something about having only 10ampures for the +12V rail.

I think this means my 300gig hd and vid card are not getting enough Power.
