Some imac help
I recently bought an old blueberry imac off craigslist for my mom, just so she can surf basically. I got it home and set it up for her and found out the ethernet port did not work. It was a final sale and luckily it only cost me $80. What I want to know is I have an extra USB wifi adapter kicking around so can I use it with the old imac? (its running os x tiger) Or do I need some apple proprietry adapter? Because If I can just use it I'm assuming I can just go grab her a wirelss router and shes set.

You should be able to plug a network adapter into the USB. As long as you have a driver that works, you should be good to go. Just make sure it is supported by the OS, I guess.

Ok, I'll give it a go. I guess I could return the router if it doesnt work out. The thing is, my adapter is an Airlink AWLL3026 and I have the installation disc but AFAIK the disc is for windows. I checked the site also and you can DL the drivers but it doesn't specify if they are win or mac drivers, it just has DL links for em. Anyway, thanks. I'll report back when I get through.
