Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
Everyone knows where I stand lol.
OSX works good, but I just prefer Vista/7 over it any day. Windows just seems to be laid out easier for my needs and you can customize the colors a lot easier and make it look good!!! Also I like that fact that just about anything installs on windows without problem. Other OS's can't always say that. Also the bang for the buck for me is very important and time and time again for laptops I can always get a faster PC with a lot more things in it than a Macbook/pro |

Looks like someone mastered already. I'm telling you, people are really smart, and some need to work for NASA. lmao ![]() ![]() Same people who originally created the Jailbreak for iPhones my friend tells me. these guys are geniuses. I certainly don't have that much time on my hands to do anothing even close do to work. these guys are the people that throws us to the future. And they see & think outside the box. My friend even emailed me a pic from LA. http://i39.tinypic.com/20kxa4x.png

Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
And OSX86 is far from easily from the regular blowjoe. You still need EFI emulation. Either by spending $200 on a piece of hardware that has limited hardware support or by using a software EFI emulator. Which isn't exactly easy to install.

I've run an OSX86 machine before, now I'd class myself as pretty computer literate, i'd been using macs for 2 years up until then, but it still took me a good 4-5 days to actually get it to work i'm sorry, but your logic just fails Apple will not license out OS X for generic PCs until Mac sales REALLY drop. Sure iMac sales have dropped, but consumer desktop sales have dropped across the board, with laptops and portables gaining. Professionals buy a Mac Pro, and while it's not cheap, it's stable as hell, which is what professionals require and while you say installing OSX86 now is "easy," as I stated above many computer users hardly know how to install software, let alone a partly stable, cracked OS, bundled with user-written drivers that may or may not work, with the risk of destabilising your computer.

Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
you need to lighten up bro,
stop taking everything so personal, as your making it sound. See I have a smile on my face, can you see it ==>> ![]() So hostile. OMG...... its funny. Also, people are not so stupid as your making it to believe. And your experiences are not the same as others and you CAN NOT speak for others you do not know. Quote:
Also, I am a professional, and I did not buy a Mac Pro, not ALL professional by MAC. - thats another comment thats over extended. Also, its my belief that if people do not know the hardware thats in their system, they should not be using a computer in the first place. Because all computer parts details are in the manual from the computer they purchase. Thats only my opinion that I have a right to. But thats just me. ![]() Have a great night and relax. (Hands you fluffy slippers and hot coco)

Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
You both need to relax lol.
It's an OS. Both Windows and OSX both work great and are both stable as ever. I am not sure about you, but at least with Vista I can't remember the last time something crashed on me. Same goes with windows 7. From my using of OSX I can say the same thing. They both run great and it just comes down to preference and what you want to buy. If you need to run photoshop you could buy a a Mac and do it or you could buy a PC and do the same job just as well without any problems. Overall there are not all that many big name programs any more that only run on either or. Sure some, but not that many. When it all comes down to it, it's only about price and preference and really nothing else. |

Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
I would say it's a fantastic operating system it would be interesting to see if it was mass released if it would still be as fantastic.

It really offers no real 3rd party support other than what Apple makes and they can just release a patch or whatever to cover a new device etc. Just think of all the CD/dvd drives, video cards, sound cards, motherboards, cpu's, etc. OSX would just not work with many systems unless they have outstanding 3rd party support kind of what windows has. And currently they just don't have that support. I don't think it could be mass released for years if they wanted to gain a bigger market share. 99% of drivers are written for windows. Just like those programs that work with OSX and you can run it on a PC have very limited driver support. |

Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
classing myself as "expert" level on most Operating systems I have to give it to OSX, not for gaming (although COD4 runs just as well as it does on the PC if you have the right hardware), but for overall interface, ease of use and modabiity. I like windows operating systems as well but once you get under the hood you begin to see quite a lot of silly decisions. Then again OSX is basically an overhauled UNIX which is quite possibly the most secure and capable operating system ever made. (there are also quite a few inaccuracies in this thread which I could correct but there is no point, ill chalk it down to people really only having experience with one OS and trying to make a point.)
I mean I could give you a very slight indication of what I mean with something really simple - I could melt a few brains in here if I really went indepth..... MSN messenger eat your heart out |

Re: Mac OSX - best operating system?
Mac is a good operation system, for the most part it can't get viruses, and most of the programs are not compatible with each other. However there are way less programs for Mac. The reason Mac. doesn't get viruses as often as PCs is because the majority of the population uses PC, so if a person wanted their program to effect as many people as possible, the would make it for the PC. Also if your mac does have a problem you have to send it back to Apple and they will replace your computer, minus all of your information. With PC for the most part you can turn it of then back on and it will work just fine. If not there are plenty of other resources available to fix it. Also for the most part PCs are less expensive(with the exception of Alien Ware). I prefer PC because it is the best for word processing and gaming. Mac seems to be better for movie creation and picture creation.
