anyone use linux on mac?
I was thinking about since its a pretty closed platform, there could be some really good distros for linux...
but then I thought "why bother? OSX is pretty much the same thing as linux." So I'm curious. any of you use it?

more like OS X is better than Linux ![]() I really see no reason to go with Linux over OS X.

for many *nix users, OSX is crippling. It is very much a limited version of linux. Its more accessable to the average user, but many things about it are quite limiting. Ever wonder why openoffice cant run on it but it can run on every other flavor of linux? Yeah...
its not the same. Now i love OSX but once you actually get linux running properly its gorgeous. Honestly linux has come quite a long way. its just so frustrating to track down all the drivers and such. I figured for mac though it wouldnt be a big deal since you know...its a closed platform.

OpenOffice is on Mac now, though its a X11 port. But rumor has it that a Mac-native version is coming soon...
