Parallels on Thursday announced Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac. This new version supports 3D gaming and adds a new feature called SmartSelect.

Parallels Desktop enables Intel-based Mac users to run Windows on their Mac at the same time as Mac OS X — no reboot is required, unlike with Boot Camp, Apple’s own software to run Windows on Mac OS X. The software costs $79.99, and the 3.0 version will be available for a $49.99 upgrade fee. Parallels is also offering a reduced price for the upgrade for $39.99 now through June 6, 2007.

hmm, I wonder how well it performs in games say vs booting to an XP install....

Honestly, probably not much better than VMWare Fusion is doing at this point.
Better known as: shoddy DX8 "acceleration" at best.
