The iPhone's style and user interface are pathbreaking, and (as the iPod proved) aesthetics do matter. But the iPhone is—so far—not a product that will turn any industry inside out. Seen as a phone, the iPhone is striking. Seen as a small computer, it's limited, and compromised by the existing business models of the wireless industry. Saying the iPhone is a pointless gadget is a bit too strong. But it isn't yet a revolutionary device.

All this anti iPhone stuff is killin' me. If people want it they'll buy it and nothing will change that.

All the iPhone hype is killing me. If people want to buy this medicore phone, then do it, but why does the rest of the world has to be informed of every single step.

I don't see anything special about the iPhone, but at work we have already had questions about whether or not it will work with Exchange ActiveSync....

I think people are going to be disappointed if they believe for one second that they will be able to buy an Apple device and have it sync with all of their Windows applications.

I read a rumor that Apple may license the use of ActiveSync, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I've never seen so many articles advising customers not to buy something just because it's popular. I think there's too many biased writers out there with a grudge against Apple.
