Need a replacement Ipod LCD screen.

I did a Google search and the few places I checked out all want $40 for a replacement screen. Anyone know of a place to get them cheaper?

The model of Ipod is an A1136, which is a 5th gen Ipod video.

The unit is made in China, so if I could buy it more directly at a cheaper price, I could actually make some money repairing it.

Any ideas?

Ebay ??
might have to trawl a bit, as their descriptions can be shite, but might get it a tad cheaper. $40 doesn't sound so bad to me though..

Good idea. In fact, I'd look at getting a busted unit, but one that has a good screen on it. That way you'd get other parts with it, such as a replacement battery and scroll wheel.

Mind you, 20 seconds on eBay got me THIS page, and another few seconds got me THIS page, so there are other options for just the screen. I like the last one as they have a 6 month warranty on the screens, plus they are apparently better screens (however they sell the opening tool separately). If memory serves I've seen that last screen on a friends iPod as it looks like the one he bought to replace his borked one.
