Snow Leopard Details Leak, Then Release
On Monday, a press release went out from Apple Canada just a tad bit early, and was pulled at some point after it went live. The press release detailed Mac OS 10.6, or "Snow Leopard." Apple had to be a little red-faced, as careful as it usually is. Later in the day Apple re-released the press release - when it should have been released.

LMAO ONLY UP TO 16TB OF RAM HA
lol WTF who could afford to buy that much and just think of all the slots you would need. That would be crazy to say you have that much ram. Let alone how pointless it would be

been following the news of this for a few days now, looks like a service pack upgrade, with a few useful features, but depending on release compatibility with my music apps, I'll probably be sticking with 10.5
Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Snow Leopard the OpenCL features looks really promising though, as does the "Grand Central" multi-core support, and I'm really surprised with the Exchange 2007 compatibility

Wait, if this is like a service update, can't you update for free?

I think Apple wants this as a new OS and not just an update right?

I believe it will be a new OS, changing the core kernel like that is going to be a pretty big deal. Either way this is going to be awesome.

Well people complain that Microsoft changes OS's to often but it looks like Mac does it even more so.

and there's not all that much difference in each OS from a user perspective, a few extra "features" here and there - which is good, because people are used to the way OS X works, but it makes it harder to justify the upgrade cost

Well that's what I mean. They want you to go out and spend $100+ on something you don't really need... But if it works it works. They are sure good at getting money from their customers lol. |

Did it ever occur to anyone if, in future HDDs are removed completely and everything gets stored in a non volatile RAM? under those circumstances, I'll have to say 16 TBs are NICE
There were lot many post I've read earlier about MRAM etc...

Ah yes, the price remember back when DVD-R writers were first launched? and then the prices went down I guess the same applies with this one... (if it actually ever comes out). For the Rich dudes, price means nothing AND if you're poor then 1 or 2 years max I'd say ![]() EDIT Also, Ram is not exactly considered of "Prime Importance" as compared to HDDs due to their volitile and unStorable nature I've 2 GBs and quite satisfied with it as I'm not interested in "Hoggy" applications which requires beyond 2GBs... so, when there are people like me who do not buy RAMs, its obvious price cannot go down... but when there is a reason for it (M RAM), and price goes down (demand rises, supply rises and competition rises)
