Personally looking to switch over to a Mac, probably the best CONSUMER laptop in regards to hardware, and MacOS has a lot of advantages for day to day tasks. I have my own take on their goals which I think is really f**ked up. Mountain Lion looks like a dumbed down joke that is trying to (and successfully will) desktop computing IMO, great for the average user but has too many limitations for the power/professional user.

Discuss, I'll bring my perspective up in a bit. I bring this topic up as I haven't had a good tech debate on this forum in a while.

Imo I don't think it'll change much for the "power user" just like Lion hasn't. While a lot of the iOS features are being added, from what I've read it sounds like what's happening with Windows 8 - a user interface over the top of OS X, similar to what's already there, but more tightly integrated.

Will be interesting to see how it goes ahead

I like the notification centre though... used to have several of those in my Windows Sidebar, a unified one will come in handy, especially on my desktop (with the second monitor)
