third party alternative to the System Monitor?
Is there a good alternative to the MS windows System Monitor when it comes to monitoring the performance and resources of the various components, processes, etc. or is the System Monitor as good as it gets...

I use Everest and Belarc Advisor for monitoring all of my hardware personally, they both have their good points

even though the Everest can retrieve some of the same information that you get from within the Performance MMC, but the Performance MMC gives you more-detailed information on "System Monitor" (as a primary purpose and concern).
both programs the Everest and Belarc Advisor (using an activeX) are more like an inventory management software. the System Monitor under the Performance MMC console allows you to collect (Performance logs) and view real-time (Performance Counters for System Monitoring) data about activity such as memory, disk, and processor usage. i've not used or seen any other software program that can do a System Monitor better than the inbuilt Performance MMC, btw. |
