richvideo.exe how to get rid of it
After installation of the new PowerDVD 7, I got this service running: richvideo.exe
Any ideas how to get rid of it? It's not in the registry in the startup list and not even in the services.msc? The only way I found is to uninstall PowerDVD, but that is not an option. Any help appreciated. Regards, Partizan

Have a look using this startup-tool.

I am using Tuneup Utilities which has the same function as this startup tool, but the thing is, as I already stated: it is not in the startup list, so I don't know how it starts...

seems the process is used in digital editing and can actually cause games to stutter.
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\RichVideo.exe try renaming it to RichVideo.BAK and reboot...amke sure powerDVD still works...if it does..you can delete it

If it can't be seen in StartupCPL then it has to be starting up as a service, so re-check the services list. Unless of course it activates after running PowerDVD.

Thank you all and you all can slap me.
in the services.msc it is showed as Cyberlink richvideo service and the stupid (me) was just looking under richvideo. I already removed it with hijack this (thanks to Bicka), but the PowerDVD works ok, so the problem solved. Thanks again all. No wonder this is the best computer site in the web. Regards, stupid

Uninstaller
In the folder C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\ where richvideo.exe lives there are also richvideoinstall.exe and richvideouninstall.exe
I tried the uninstaller; it removed the running service and PowerDVD seems to be running fine. |

I always go in my services, and shut it down. I'll have to give this a try.
