Frequency Scaling?

I wasn't sure of where this should go, but I have an odd problem with my laptop. I'm running on an Inspiron 8600 with a Pentium M 1400Mhz CPU that is scaling down to 600MHz... when it's on AC power. Here is a picture of a normal circumstance, and then mine:

I have looked in the power options in the control panel and such, and I have set things to the Dekstop/Home Office role fruitlessly. Any ideas?

What are you trying to do. Is it that you don't want the cpu to slow down when you use the AC power?
Give a try to CrystalCPUID and rmclock. Maybe one of them can adjust the settings as you want.

Thanks a LOT for mentioning those two. I used them in combination of one another, as one is good for determining optimal multiplier and voltage settings, while the other was good for the actual implementation. I can't give you enough thanks, as I have been plagued by a defunct BIOS (600MHz reading from BIOS, eh) and this is the best fix I've found so far.
