Kodak Easyshare 6.0.1 - Bonjour

Just updated to Easyshare 6...

Rather puzzled to find an odd DLL from APPLE being picked up by my firewall component control, the after a little reading up, it seems that Easyshare is one of several things which installs this without so much as a "hello?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonjour_%28protocol%29

While for some other things, people seem to be asking ho to remove, this example was removed using add/remove programs without any problem for the application - since it serves no useful pupose on my system, and I have no desire to leave unwanted autoconfigs active.

In fact, the thought, just what we need, another probably vulnerability laden component, just to make it easier for those who will never get beyond "plug & play".

Needless to say, I have UPNP disabled - other than a few annoying instances of programs which fail to provide any control (eg. Cyberlink PowerCinema - a particular annoyance in producing an undesirable amount of UPNP traffic).

Sadly, for the sake of those who cannot be bothered with one step more of setup, we are doomed to a multiplication of this pestilence of background garbage forever scanning for things to set up, even if you may not want it to.

all these dumbed down things are so bad, i gotta find out how to not use easyshare for our cam

'we are doomed to a multiplication of this pestilence of background garbage forever scanning for things to set up, even if you may not want it to'

dont forget if it looks cheapo in the foreground, it would probably be up to something in the back, & both would be super annoying

aka sometimes you have a choice/warning sign to avoid something, which can inturn cause possible background stuff that you dont want
