Hi guys, I have installed MS Office 2003 in 2 machines. I updated one (aprox 300 Mb from Office Update) and I want to know where are the update instalation files, because I don't want to download them again. Somebody knwos where are they?

i don't know how to get the already downloaded update files since i've never done it.

however, here are steps you can take to download updates for the Microsoft Office to install them offline...
this whole process of getting the update files takes extra time, so be patient as you want to have as much as the update files to be available on your local drive, so that you can install them offline.


goto Microsoft Office Update - http://office.microsoft.com/officeup....aspx?lc=en-us
and then on the site you'll require to install an activeX control file on to your system, so that you can use the update service on the site to re-scan your Office product for any available updates (for the existing system).

the page will display the available updates... like this for example (below picture is for the "REQUIRED UPDATES" for Office XP on some system)...

once you have the list of all the needed updates...
Google on the "support.microsoft.com" website for each and every KB's number...

for example like this...

then click the link that says "Description of the security update for...", and this will take you to the specific update home page.
often times that this link is presented on the first result of the Google serch/


on this page look at and under this...

"To view the complete security bulletin, visit one of the following Microsoft Web sites, depending on whether you are a home user or an IT professional:"

then click the link below the "IT Professionals",

then you will get in to the download page for that update... you will need to locate and download the right update file(s) for your Microsoft Office version...

you can locate your update file below this...

"Tested Software and Security Update Download Locations:
Affected Software:

Microsoft Office 2003............"

and then click on the "Download the update (KBxxxxxx)"

once the update file(s) has been downloaded save the file to your local drive or CD.

note--

some of the update files will be larger than the one you install online, this due to the update file(s) will be in the version of "FullFile" (for an example, this file will look something similar to this... "officexp-KBxxxxxx-FullFile-ENU.exe", and this means you can install this update file without having to present or require any files in the Office CD).

the Validation before you can donwload the update files is applied and required on some of the updates.

and please do remember, each update files that you just downloaded today may/can be updated again to a new version at anytime so you'll need to check back at the Microsoft Office update site from time to time, so that you'll have the up to date version of the update files.
