Um. Closing the drive? Remote eject I can understand - but closing it? Why?

sometimes it's just more convienient to click a mouse than reach down and open it manually....at the moment i have a box positioned sideways underneath my desk and with the drive open i have to reach underneath the tray to press the botton...awkward.

Most drives close when you apply pressure to the tray in a "pressing the button" type motion. Does that help?

i always cringe when closing the tray like that...afraid of doing damage to those little plastic gears.

anyhow, isnt there a command i could put into a shortcut target line to open/close the tray? something like, "+eject E:\" could have sworn that i've seen a desktop screenshot with icons that described that such action....

All my drives are slot loaded (except my laptop DVD+CRW combo)

ha ha, thiss little!... "EJECT" 4Kb.!
http://www.filelibrary.com:8080/cgi-.../108/eject.zip
in winXP, put the program in c:\documents and settings\<your name> (%userprofile%) folder
you can use it from the run box, type eject x:
for close/load, type eject x:/l ,where x is your drive drive letter.
but i think you already have the best one around, just play with the EJECT its good too.
