Dunno where to post this...so I stick it here
When I try to run a game, it says Directdraw is not installed...
I run dxdiag, in directX section, it shows Directdraw accel, Direct3D accel and AGP accel all "can't use" (I am using a Chinese Windows, so I just directly translate it...)
The game runs fine before I install a Omega Driver....
Now I am using ATI catalyst 8.8 (modded as I am using Mobility Radeon 9000)
and I have updated directX
any idea..?

The current drivers do not support any Pre-DX9 cards (older than Radeon 9500 - the 9000/9250 are DX8 family, not DX9).

Modding the Pre-R300 6.11 driver - Catalyst™ 6.11 Display Driver for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition - would potentially give you the latest possible driver with any chance of being usable.

doesnt work....
anyway, thanks for your help..and I have got another problem
this actually happened about a week ago, all happened in a second while I was surfing the net....I tried a different monitor (mine is a laptop), same on the other monitor, does it mean that it is display card problem? (I changed driver and still the same)...thanks again

Looks like classic display corruption, first thought, could it be overheating due to clogged vents or fans, or being used on a soft surface which blocks the vents.
