Forcing a resolution on vista

Hi im kinda new here, not sure if this was meant to be here :o anyway here it goes. I was using 1650x1080 recently and until yesterday when i used a vga switcher to switch in between my PC and 360 using a single LCD monitor. the option of 1650x1080 was gone and replaced with a 1600x1200 is there a way to fix this or force the 1650x1080 back? thx

why would you want to run 1600x1080 if your monitor is 1600x1200 natively?

You can however set up custom resolutions in powerstrip although both Nvidia and ATI control panels should be detecting all the resolutions correctly, id check your cables and monitor are ok and if you are still using the vga switcher id try the PC cable straight into the monitor again to see if it cures it.

well im using a 22" LCD monitor where the native is supposed to be 1650x1080 but it only detects the 1600x1200 now which is wrong 1600x1200 makes the visual distorted
