Blocking skype
is there anyway to block skype on the Verizon FiOS Router, MI424WR? i've been looking online to see if i can find the port and the UDP/TCP info for skype, but i can't seem to find it. from what i've been reading though, skype has made that proprietary information
.

Re: Blocking skype
i'm finding this to be very difficult. the more and more i read, the more and more i'm beginning to realize that this isn't going to be easy to do, if at all. i've found out so far that skype uses ports 80 and 443, uses a decetralized network, so i can't block any one single IP address.
so far what i've found is that i'll need a firewall with good packet sniffing technology to block anything skype related. |

NetLimiter - The Ultimate Bandwidth Shaper
try it as a firewall only... it will probably do the job...

Re: Blocking skype
The network may be decentralized, supernodes etc. but where does it have to go to to get started?
