Microsoft Security Essentials: good product!
I just downloaded the new Microsoft Security Essentials and it's pretty solid. I am really careful with my crap, but somehow it found a dormant virus in a WMA file I ripped off a CD maybe 5 yrs ago. In the last 5 years I have used Norton and AVG (recently) never popped up. In addition, a regular site I visit tried to install a trojan through a popup I never expected. Very low usage, not too nagging and easy to use. Finding it better than AVG (it had issues with IE8)
try it out! |

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials: good product!
I've got it on one of my systems. Simple easy setup, no system slowdowns, but can't speak about it's real-time protection, I rarely go anywhere I run into malware/virus crap so it's kind of a non-issue for me. Good to note it does something, thanks man.

Thanks.... As i have a pre-Built system from Packard Bell,The Damn software pre-Installs Nortans anti-Viras which i removed yesterday..
I googled that code but i must of missed the important part.. Looks as though i need to get hold of a clean up tool.. to remove some of the hidden files... Thanks again. |

Looks decent, but I don't see any reason why not to use Avast instead

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials: good product!
this is a new solution, I've never tried avast. But I assume windows integration might be better with this new software (as most feel a bit weird). I am actually really impressed with the stuff coming out of Redmond nowadays!

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials: good product!
Will it conflicts with Kaspersky anti-virus installed on my system or can they work together.
