I do not want to install ffdshow again, so no MPC either.

Other suggestions?

Google has many results, but one site looks more dangerous than the other.
Have you USED any software that works and is clean?

I am using klite codec or you can download nokia pc suite , it comes with nokia multimedia player which plays any 3gp file

klite has it all , after installing the codecs you will be able to play all formats in MP Classic if you want.

If you don't want ffdshow/MPC you can try mplayer. It uses its own codecs so it's not as intrusive as some codec-packs.

Not interested in installing extra codecs, besides, klite package depends on ffdshow which I said I don't want to use.

Seems you might have some 3GP file(s) made with some uncommon codec or perhaps DRM protection.
