difficulty installing software for graphics pad
I am trying to install updated software for an old Wacom graphics pad (Artz ll) model #UD-1218-R. The installation stops to inform me of old wacom pad drivers that must be removed to finish the installation. I cannot find anymore wacom drivers to remove.
Neither windows search engine nor Agent Ransack can show me anything "wacom" still left. The Device Manager doesn't show any leftover devices from previous install even when directed to show hidden files. How do I locate and expunge the offenders? I am running win xp sp 3 on a hp pavilion desktop. Pad is connected via a usb adapter. Thank you. danajo |

Re: difficulty installing software for graphics pad
Thank you Matthew but I already have and use ccleaner 3-5 times a week. It hasn't been able to solve the problem.

Re: difficulty installing software for graphics pad
Was there an un-install program with the old drivers? If so did it run okay as far as you know? Graphics pads have utilities also (typically) are there any traces of anything like that, maybe.
have you tried driver cleaner?

Re: difficulty installing software for graphics pad
Unfortunately there is no uninstaller. Tonight I have used the command prompt and manually deleted all files listed on the original floppy disk for drivers for it. I have also turned off a few things in the registry by temporarily renaming them but had to go back and reset them since the new installation needed the original settings to be the same.
My migraine is currently winning the contest and I am going to bed. I will tackle reinstalling again tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion. |
