Who's using 64bit Browser now? (with Flash support)
Since about mid september of this year... adobe released a 64bit preview Flash player.... so to say..
since then i've been toying with it.. Combine that windows internet Explorer 9 64bit.... and frankly i haven't had ANY problems at all really... probably less problems then i was having with the 32bit player... So i'm Curious... how many are using it full time?... how many of you didn't know about it and want to try it out?... Well if you weren't aware.. all you'd have to do is open your 64bit browser.. go to adobe.com and click on flash to be greeted by a 'we don't do 64bit flash... use a 32bit browser...' followed by 'try our preview if you really want to *sigh*' make it quick and easy for you... heres the IE active X flash 64bit player.. http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l...vex_092710.exe and heres the firefox/google/etc 64bit flash player http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l...gin_092710.exe oh and i guess if you running mac os X http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l...mac_092710.dmg or linux http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l..._092710.tar.gz All these links are available at Adobe Labs - Downloads: Flash Player "Square" Preview Release So now that you know and have an option..... what'cha gonna do? and just a fyi.. i'm running 64bit flash on my 64bit ie9 to type this message ...oh and Just another FYI... While they say you should remove previous versions of flash before installing these... i didn't follow the rules... and i haven't ever had any issues.... 32bit and 64bit flashes seem to be for the most part independant or something. Because i get 32bit flash updates still... and my current 64bit flash just keeps on working.... So i have both installed. When a new 64bit flash comes out.. i just remove the 64bit from the programs and features and then download the new one and install it..

I would use the 64 bit browser if i could get hold of a spell check addon that works.
Thats important to me as im partly dyslexic. I currently use IESpell but it only supports 32 bit. |

that's kinda irritating..
i just did a checkup on the 64bit spellcheckers and it appears for the most part.... there is none that work at all.. errors out on the 64bit client of ie... well that kinda blows..

I mostly use Opera which is 32-bit only on Windows for now, so it's a "No, I'll wait for a while." I'll probably try it when either Opera or Mozilla go 64-bit (I know that there are 64-bit builds of Firefox to be found, but I'm not that interested in the whole thing).

When they bring out a 64-bit Opera I will. Until then...

Re: Who's using 64bit Browser now? (with Flash support)
I am not using a 64-bit browser (using plain old Chrome), though I probably wouldn't mind. Actually, as a web developer, I am really curious now. Out of principle, I wish that I saw more browsers getting the much-needed support.
For the rest of the week I think I will have a go at IE9 64-bit. It's already installed I've just always tested out the 32-bit version. Thanks for the links, Judas.

Re: Who's using 64bit Browser now? (with Flash support)
So 14 days after i posted this poll... Adobe removed 64bit flash downloader and installer from their website with the 10.2 beta 1 for 32bit only..
trying to find the 10.1 preview for 64bit is basically impossible on their website.... i couldn't find it.. the orginal link takes you to 10.2 without 64bit options So damn good thing i posted the links to the orginal 64bit DOWNLOAD locations in the first post of this thead... otherwise trying to find links to the file on other sites just redirects you to the 32bit downloader.. It's like adobe is trying everything in their power to kill 64bit.. and with all honesty, i've been using 64bit flash for quite some time and it's WAY more stable then 32bit.. wtf is their problem?

I tried 64 bit IE 9 beta with the 64 bit flash and it didn't recognize that it was even installed.

Re: Who's using 64bit Browser now? (with Flash support)
What is the purpose of a 64bit browser apart from platform uniformity?
