Re: flv players not working in win2000
According to the VLC website it also requires something called Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000.

Re: flv players not working in win2000
I've tried VLC player, I mentioned that in my original post, also the picture shows two separate error messages from both VLC & FLV player. I'm not sure where to download the 'update roll up' . But does anyone know what i need to install to get this missing 'Active X control' thingy? I've downloaded the latest flash player from Adobe and youtube works fine. But I guess i'm sill missing something? I did find some thing called 'active X control' But I wasn't sure about the website & if it was legit.?

Re: flv players not working in win2000
You can get Update Rollup 1 right HERE on Microsofts site. Just note that his is an update for Windows 2000 with SP4, so make sure that's installed first. There is also an unofficial Update Rollup 2 file floating around too, but I suggest not using it as you wont' be able to use Windows Update after it as it screws something up.

Re: flv players not working in win2000
I couldn't really comment much on Windows 2000 simply because at the time, i really didn't get much personal/business time with 2000, actually i rarely ever see it specially now.. in the past it was a rarity too.
I just know about the Service Pack 4 being the latest, and that there was some things floating about suggesting an update to that. Aside from that..... most of my experience is with windows 3.1/3.11/95(abcd)/98/98se/ME

Re: flv players not working in win2000
Try MPC-HC, I have just tried to play a few .flv files in Windows 2000 SP4 and it works. Get the 1.2.908 version (the one I tested) from sourceforge, the latest version doesn't work at all in Windows 2000.
