Best Driver Version for Morrowind.

I know this seems like a very n00b, and/or stupid question. But I shall ask it anyways, and attempt to give anyone nice enough to read this thread some actual information to go on.

I know that different Catalyst Drivers have different pros and cons, so which version would be best to run Morrowind at 1290x960 resolution, AAx2, AFx4p (and disabled pixel shaded water) on a Pentium IV 1.8ghz with an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro? And would the standard Catalyst or the Omega drivers be a better choice for this setup.

I'm looking for decent speed with GOOD stability. No CTDs for me, thanks.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Actually I tried it using the latest Catalysts (3.6) and I experienced a MAJOR slowdown. I lost 20 fps in some cases. Whatever they are doing with updating these drivers, is seriously messing up my framerates. Not only that, but with the 3.6 drivers, AGP accelleration is disabled and will not allow itself to be reenabled, at least not with DXDIAG.

So no, the latest drivers aren't up to spec for me.

I took it upon myself to try the 3.4 based Omega drivers, and now my computer is seriously messing up. VERY seriously, as in screen corruption and "virtual desktop mode" in 1290x960 mode... any idea of what could be causing these problems? I never experienced this when 3.4 was the latest driver version.
