???

How does that work on say 133/166MHZ FSB?
I've got an Asus A7N8X non-deluxe, and have 2 256MB PC2100 DDR ram sticks in Dual Channel config w/ mem. settings at 5-3-3-2. It defaults to 6-3-3-2.5, though. If I try to set it to 5-2-3-2, it just beeps loudly once refusing to boot. Yet, with 5-3-2-2, it complains that XP home SP1 has a corrupt loader file, and freezes up loading up the original CD to try to repair it. Even going so far as to say that the CD's been corrupted.

Yet at 5-3-3-2, the file, and CD are magically uncorrupted.

Should the 5 be higher? On my budget, I 'm trying to maximize my PC's potential without the risk of component failure. Seeing as how, I couldn't afford to replace the broken item right now.

don't know about other boards but I can only set mine to 5,6 or 7. Its probably n-Force2 specific anyway.

Well the only timing I can boot with is 11-3-2-2, no 11-2-2-2 because this RAM is rated at 6-3-2-2 anyways, so I tried 11-3-2-2 and I ran memtest86 passed 0 errors, ran Sandra Mem test, marked the scores, went to bios changed timings to 7-3-3-2 (tightest I can go without gettin errors in memtest86), ran memtest86 got 0 errors, ran Sandra Mem test and got around 5 points more on each MB/s than with the 11-3-2-2 timing.

So I guess I'm shit out of luck, I'll stick to 7-3-3-2 bcuz it seems thats the best timings for me.

Well I am running 220x11@1.8V = 2415MHz stable with Corsair XMS PC3200 RAM, I'm DAMN happy.

I read this today and tried it for my self. These were with a Barton 2500 @ 11/ 222

Scores were from Sandra Pro. First Memory score next with same memory spec i tested the Cpu Bench, here what i got.

1. 4-3-3-2 spec had 2907/2669 memory. 9033/3670 cpu

2. 9-3-3-2 had 2947/2689 memory. 9087/3686 cpu

3. 11-3-3-2 had 2975/2703 memory. 9104/3702 cpu

4. 13-3-3-2 had 2953/2731 memory. 9108/3702 cpu

5. 12-3-3-2 had 2985/ 2743 memory. 9156/ 3735 cpu

So for me 12-3-3-2 is the best. Thanks for the great find virus2k as i just gained 78/74 points in memory and 123/65 points on my cpu bench score.
