Hey,
I am after a good software program for cooling my CPU. I have aheard of CPU Cool and others. My CPU is AMD running Windows XP SP1.

Why don't you just run F@H or SETI, cuz it's better to use those idle cycles then just to waste them away. Besides big swings in cooling ... i.e. 20C -> 40C isn't good for the CPU in the long run. It's best to keep the CPU at a constant temp as long as it's running cool enough.

... Winodws XP has an idler.... it will work better in general then anything else.... usually other idlers were ment for windows 9x systems....

I would say just invest some money and time and install an external, portable watercooling setup. I recently added the Koolance Exos system and it's just awesome. The CPU never exceeds even 33 C under constant full load.

I use a program called Speedfan.
It monitors the temps on your board with a graph and it also allows you change the RPM values of all your fans connected to the mainboard. check it out. i use it alot to make my computer shutup.
