Shareaza
Shareaza is the BEST P2P out. If you are having connection and speed problems, take a look at their forum, they have many tips that can help.

The reason for that is that most programs at least require you to share what you are downloading, I appreciate that we live in a culture where people think they should be able to get something for nothing but you have to understand that P2P networks exist solely to allow users to share files - not for some users to share/supply or otherwise do all the work while some users just sit there and take what they can when they can for no return. It is common courtesy to give back to the community as much as you take from the community, think about your own physical community - how long would you put up with someone spomging your hard-earned cash off you before you decided you'd had enough and stopped giving it to them. The same will happen with the P2P networks if people take without any intention of giving back, people will stop sharing the stuff in the first place, so you won't get it anyway... I don't know you personally, and I'm sure you wouldn't sponge off people in real life, but I know that if I see leechers in my Bittorrent client, their ip gets put on my banned list on the second or third time they do it (and only because the first time could be a genuine mistake). If you're not prepared to share then find another way of getting what you want...even if it does mean paying for it! /RANT MODE OFF

I use burst so I don't even see people's IP's- I just set the upload limit to about half of my maximum (about 15kb/s), then I let it go-
I always start out slow, but end up with download speeds of aroung 150 to 170 kb/s- fast enough for me.. My max lately is only 360 kb/s anyway- so 170 is fine.

what you don't see...doesn't mean it isn't there my firewall shows me all people in p2p programs that connect to me...also when the program itselfs doesn't show it IP are always used...that is how p2p works |

Yeah - I know how it works, I simply stated that I don't see the IP's in Burst and that a set an overall limit.. ![]() I have firewall logs too- As well as peerguardian, etc, etc, etc.. . give me a little credit. |
