it does still say 8.1 in dxdiag, but there are plenty of files identified as "beta" and the version number for all the files is "4.9xxxxx" which means that they are indeed DX9 files. DXdiag just doesn't recognize the beta properly (that's my guess )

Default Post Dx9 problems

I installed dx9 that i downloaded from a link on this page. I'm having major problems now. No direct3d8 or direct3d9 interface when running test for direct 3d acceleration in dxdiag. Games fail to even run, like Ghost Recon. I would assume any game that requires dx8 acceleration. dx7 is fine. I've reinstalled, reinstalled in safe mode, reinstalled my graphic driver. I've even reinstalled Ghost Recon. Nothing seams to work, and now I'm stuck with dx9 on my system. Anyone have any answers, that may help me out? I would appreciate it.

Default Post DX9_Uninstall_Pak_WinXP_DotNet.rar

I downloaded the uninstall file and can't get it unrar. Is it suppose to be 29.7kb in size? LOL, its just one problem after another. I know the links right, because it downloaded the file. Just wondering if there is a mirror for the XP uninstall.

Default Post DirectX9 Uninstall

Hey thanks, I usually run winace to unrar. but I picked up winrar and it works great. I did figure a little out messing around. I disabled 3d acceleration and then enabled it again. This allowed both directx7 and directx8 tests to run successfully. It also allowed me to run my favorite games. I still get the error "Direct3d9 test results: failure at step 2. (Getting Direct3DCreate address): HRESULTS = 0x80004003 (error code)" on the directx9 test. Other than that everything is running smooth so far, so i think I'll keep it on here for a while. Although it would be nice to have the directx9 test run successful also. Any helpful ideas ...please post.

Thanks again.
