Lag
Hi. Whenever I boot up my PC I have to wait 2-3minutes for anything to work. Windows XP boots up and It looks to be finished but Norton Auto-Protect is disabled, Norton Firewall hasn't initiated and nothing will work...
When the 2minutes is up, I have to manually load Norton Firewall and enable auto protect. It seems as though I have a lag or something. I've scanned my system for viruses and same with spyware. Can anyone help me please this is annoying!! ![]() /d4rkz. |

Used to get something like that w/ Norton AntiVirus 2003. I just defragged HDD and did BootVis and stuff like that.

Thing is... I've always used this software and never had a problem only just now. I use Norton Anti-Virus 2002 and Norton Personal Firewall 2003. Both are set to come on at startup but have problems!

And if you set them so that they do not automatically start on windows startup, does the problem go away?

Well, go to RUN and type in "msconfig" and go to startup tab. Uncheck any programs that you don't want to start up....

Yes, but not all programs that are listed under startup are in MSCONFIG.

Almost all are. If not then they are listed in the services list.
