Unofficial Optimized Firefox Builds for Windows.

this is for your info, use these softwares at your own risk.

Unofficial builds of mozilla software Firefox builds.
Many of them are optimized to run on a specific CPU architecture.

The freebird Browser Project - http://www.lmhess.com/freebird/

Unofficial nightly builds of mozilla software Firefox builds - http://pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/
(http://pryan.org/firebird/)

this's the about window of the latest TRUNK build (2004/07/01 - Mozilla 1.8a2) optimized by moox.
many of the extensions of 0.8 are working on this build but some of them are require manually installation.

JLP is on a distinguished road

Thumbs Up! Awsome

Yeah I'm using the same optimized build from MOOX and it is working great. In Gentoo Linux I also have it compiled especially for AMD64 in 64-bits. Now I'm only waiting for some 64-bit build for Windows.

Firefox optimized builds - built by moox and the Freebird project.
and the official build...

other browsers - the Opera and the IE.
(opera is still the fastest page loading under my net connection - dialup)

moox was fast for me, but is there a way to get extensions to work with it? They would not install (tabbrowser, ieview, mouse gestures) for me at all, or in the case of tbext, did not work..

go to the Firefox's location bar and type in about:config and hit enter key.

then locate the following Pref names and then change all of its value to 0.9

app.version
extensions.lastAppVersion
general.useragent.vendorSub

then D/L the extensions for FF 0.9 that you like to use and install it by hand...
most of the extensions that wrote for version 0.9 should work.

go to the home page of the author's so you can get the latest version,
then try to D/L it by using Save Link As or Save Link Target As in Mozilla,
save it (.xpi file) locally.

to install the extensions..
go to FF's menu -> Tools -> Extensions.
then drag/drop the .xpi file into the Extensions window.
close/exit the FF. then restart the FF and open the Extensions window and R-click on on each extension, select Options to config it. (some extensions creates a new menu for an easy configs)

note- always save your profile (just zip/rar the whole profile folder) so you can restore it if it's not working.

there're lots more tips/tricks for Firefox/Mozilla,
for you to customize it - both the LookAndFeel and speed/performances.
check it out or post your questions.

Thanks buddy, will try it when I get home.
I have the normal version configed nicely, but I knew that there would be some funny tricks to getting it working with the alternate builds

Here's the Performance that he adds it in firefox.js of the build,
don't change the info in this file directly, if you like to apply your settings you can modify or add it to your user.js file

JLP, try the advB build if you have not tried it, i think you will like it.
