Windows Media Player Problem

I'm using windows xp sp1 final

my PC hangs for 10 min whenever i try to play a movie file in any movie player

the problem started when i installed and uninstalled winamp 3
(winamp3 made itself the default mpeg/mpg/avi file player)

i have even made windows media player the default player 4 all movie files

but the prob exits and i cant play movie files on my PC
(prob was present before i intalled xp sp1)

Maybe try re-installing Win Med Player.

Or just re-install WinAmp LOL.

To identify whether or not its Windows Media player or the architecture itself, go to start > run > and type mplayer2 (and hit ok)

Attempt to play your video with this player and report results.
