Default Post Resolution Tweaking

The highest resolution i can get is 1280x1040. I have a 17" Viewsonic, and a Geforce 2 mx 400. Does anyone know where I can find one? If they even exist? Or if it would damage my machine? Thanks

Default Post

the resolution has to do with your monitor, that might be the highest it can go.

If you use XP , you can unselect "hide mode that my monitor can't display" , you can get a better resolution.Of cause, it damages your monitor

Donator
It would probably screw up your monitor real bad, or it might become "out of range" or whatever it is when it goes completly black.

Get yourself a new monitor.

System Specs

And take a look at the Products as well...

Many of the basic model 17" ARE limited to 1280 x 1024
A few of the higher end models allow 1600 x 1200 , so if you have one of those, be sure that it is identified correctly - and update the driver.

Resolutions

http://www.pcmech.com/show/monitors/115/ -- Your monitor will support higher resolutions.. but at lower refresh rates. Finding the right combination is the trick.
