motherboard monitor (you can only check temps with software if your MB supports it)

You have to remember that you'll only be able to see the CPU and motherboard temperature. There isn't a piece of software to tell you what the case temperature itself is as there is no temperature sensor for that (unless your case has one). In most cases all you need however is the CPU and mobo temps so you should be fine.
