p2p.... tried so many.... need something good...
im sure everyone out there has tried kazza before, and needless to say. it sucks ass. Since i tried it a year or so ago, i have tried many more p2p programs and they mainly all suck. Worst one bieng morpheus, best one being lime wire.
What is a good one to download.... with little spyware, fast downloads, bit torrent, and great selection of movies, movies and programs. I know thats asking a bit much.. Whats everyone using and why is it good/bad..?

I currently use Shareaza.. seems pretty good depending on what you're looking for.. only complaint is that it doesnt work in all configurations.. sometimes requires some tweaking.

WinMX isn't so bad either.. But I am not a big P2P guy so I am not so sure about it compared to others.

limewire pro or morpheus ultra are the best I've seen, granted neither is free
PS - just a reminder about the rules before there are any problems, discussion: good....links/warez: bad

Azereus is nice for bt stuff, and for all else I use emule (slow, but tons of stuff). DC ++ is good if you have many gigs of stuff to share.

shareaza is the fastest if you tweak it for sp2 and if you got 3.5mbs bandwidth
also you need to patch tcip max connection with evid4226 patch 2.12 before you tweak shareaza.there is a good explanation on the shareaza forums about how to do it on different setups.ive seen 200+kbs depending on what you are downloading and the ammount of sources.

After napster, Morpheus used to be good up until they revised it and made it crap. I don't really use any p2p things anymore, but when i do, it's usually LimeWire or Kazaa. I prefer Kazaa lite, but i don't know if that is still banned.

I was using Bit-Tornado for the longest time because it was working and it was from the dudes who made Burst!. Well I tried Azureus when Burst! was discontinued and it was hella slow, but now I've tried the latest version of it and I must say that I'm amazed at how much progress has been done!
The memory usage is so low~!Update: How silly of me. (I did not notice the JavaW.exe running consuming 55 MB, making Azureus a whopping 57 MB of RAM). Hmmm, But I think it uses less resources overall.

Personely I use Kazaa Lite Ressurection"KLR" for Proggies ect dl's and stuff and WinMX for music sence everyone on Kazaa seems to have all the music but some bands are simply curropt. WinMX rarely has any curropted music and if you cant find it on WinMX you can go to KLR and sort through the curropted crap. Anyway ive tried many p2p programs and those 2 seem to work best for me.

I am only on dial up, but edonkey and limewire pro work the best for me since BT is kinda down. I used to have shareazaa, but it was terrible for me, maybe i didnt have it tweaked right, but I would find files w/ tons or sources and the DL would never start. Ive tried IRC and DC++, IRc doesnt seem too bad once you figure out how to use it, but i dont like how DC++ is set up. For a lot of servers you need to have GIGS of info in your shared folder to even connect.
However I know several people on high speed and use newsgroups, and there is no comparison between newsgroups and other programs. With newsgroups, their bandwidth is maxed out on each file. Most ISPs come w/ a news server, but most of the people i know have payed to subscribe to one, and most also pay for the use of newzbin which is about $5 a month. In total they spend between $15-20 month. With newsgroups no one uploads off of you at all, and like i said your dl speed is constant and basically maxes out your bandwidth.

I'm using BitComet for torrents, and that's enought for me, cause I've got huge LAN covering some part of my city, so files that are not on torrent network I can get through DC++ over LAN.

Giving links to the p2p programs themselves (e.g. Azureus, BitComet etc) is not illegal - they're all free anyway, most of them open source. For example, the BitTorrent protocol is used by companies to provide big files to visitors. Blizzard is using BitTorrent to provide content for World of Warcraft, for example.
However, giving links to download full versions of commercial programs, games, movies etc is illegal and will not be tolerated here |

BitTorrent is pretty good, I use it sometimes. I use Kazaa Lite most of the time, even though it's slower than it used to be.

I personally prefer to use soulseek ( www.slsknet.org ). It's not particularly user friendly nor is it a very big network, but it is one of the better places for finding things that may shade on the more obscure side of things. Most of which are never released in the US to begin with. It's also great for full albums.
