FireFox error
Hey guys,
At my work comp, whenever I close my firefox browser, I get an error stating "The instruction at "0x56ff8b90" referenced memory at "0x56ff8b90". The memory could not be "read"" What does thing mean, and how should I fix it. It doesn't always happen, and doesnt seem to cause problems, just more of a nuisance. Any feed back would be nice, thanks. |

That's an access violation error. I would do as suggested about reinstalling Firefox, but I would also scan for spyware/adware as some can cause that exact error, specifically I've seen a newer version of Alexa floating around. Normally Alexa isn't supposed to affect Firefox, but I've seen it referenced to that error a number of times.

this seems to be a bug in Firefox 1.0.1 (with Windows Media Player Core and/or Microsoft (r) JScript files) as seen in this mozilla's talkback crash analysis reports...
http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/r...h-analysis.win try doing a clean uninstall of the program like others advised above (this includes removing profile folders), then start it over and test it with the base install first, then adding your prefered extension one by one, and test it at after each extension installed. if the problem happens again, try Mozilla Firefox support forum - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38 |

I'll have to get to those forums. I just uninstalled and all that jazz and I am still getting the error. I don't have any entensions installed and no spyware. How strange.

this's not likely to happen for most of the users,
or you would see more user reports. try the support forum, they may have some good ideas... |
