DX9 and 3DMark not getting along

3D will not run on either of 2 machines both with XPPro. One has a Radeon with Cat3 drivers, the otheer a G3 with 41.09 drivers.
I get the perfectly ridiculous message that I need to install DX 8.1 and/or proper drivers.

Download the latest version of 3dmark2001SE like rev 330 or something, it's a problem with older 3dmark programs not recognizing anything higher than 8.1

Thanks..I forgot to install the patch again when i re-installed 3DMark...D'OH!

I did the same thing on Blue, I thought I had installed the 330 patch...but I guess not. All better now.

I had the same problem when the beta came out you do need to download it again... I lost 50 3dmarks when i loaded direct x 9 !!! with my geforce 4 4200.... yikes

I get the same message on my server, but of course its running .NET Server and probably has a weird version of DirectX. It did run in the past though.

use the patch to get 3dmark to version 330, for me it has resolved that problem

The only warning to give is that if you are after score dx9 seems to drop just about everyones about 50-200 points.

Other then that I find I get similar performance in games.
