Should I disable Antivirus??
Just curious, I have had high speed for 2 months now and I'm wondering if it is safe to disable antivirus protection while I game (not online of course) The only way I can get a virus is while surfing the net right? so if I disable it while gaming it's no big deal right? or am I wrong?
Anyone know? |

Wrong! same goes for a firewall you need one on at just about all times
if anything if you not palying online, disable your you network connection, then disable you AV and you'll be fine...

good advice there.
for disabling all of network connections and the AV program before you start playing game... you can temporary disable them by opening the Network Connections then select each network connections's adapters and disble them. and by using the AV program settings in Windows or choosing a different program profile (if available). -or- you could also try using different hardware profile. you can choose to enable or to disable many of the service(s) for using on different hardware profile. if you open the the Service Properties applet of any services and go to the 'Log On' tab you would see the Hardware Profile section. there you can then disable the service for different hardware profile. you can also configure in the Device Manager to disable the network adapters for this hardware profile. and that's if you don't mind to do a reboot before playing game, and also, this newly created hardware profile has been tested and found the Windows system has worked properly without problem then you can just reboot the PC and at startup, select the other profile... then after the game you would do another reboot and select the other one. Yes you can safely pull out the cable but, some modem have a stand by button wich is doing the same thing and a lot easier .. take a look at it !
