Best Defrag software?

I'm currently using O&O Defrag 6.5 Pro, but I want to know if there is any better defrags. I've heard Diskeeper is just aweful, but I heard Perfect Disk and O&O are sorta neck-and-neck. So what do you think is the best defrag?

Diskeeper is far from awful in my opinion, I find it to be great software. Diskeeper 10 is coming out shortly. O&O works quite well too having used that also. I have not tried Perfect Disk.

I'd really like to know what problems you guys have encountered with Diskeeper Professional if any. I've been one of their long term beta testers and it's always worked great for me on many different types of platforms and equipment. It'd be good feedback to give back to Diskeeper as well...I'm supposed to be testing their new version of Diskeeper 10 Professional quite soon.

Perfect Disk for me. Use to use Diskeeper, but moved onto better things.

try locating this PDF document online...
"PD7_OO8_Defragmentation_Performance_Test.pdf"
and have a look at how the PerfectDisk 7 and O&O Defrag 8's Stealth mode were performed on the test.

since you have installed the O&O Defrag you may want to document how it has been working on your system. then whenever you get a chance try the PerfectDisk 7 again. this way you can check your documented to see the differences or similarities of these defrag programs.

wow those results are scary. Seems that perfect disk won in every test... BUT... they only ran O&O in stealth mode, it has alot more options to choose how to defrag, i wonder it that would make any difference.

I think ill give Perfect Disk a try anyway.

if i could remember the O&O Defrag has 4 or 5 defrag modes, one of them would be to fully defrag <place the name of the program defrag mode here> i can't remember the name of the defrag mode.
anyway, what i want to tell you is that the defrag mode is the best disk defrag method. i used to see that the disk performance had been increased after using this defrag method. but the drawback to it is that it took a lot of time to finish its tasks. however, this was since the O&O Defrag version 6 that i had tried it, and smething may have been changed by now.

As people say there are several good ones, though I prefer the interface of O&O. The Stealth defrag mode is nice because it fixes the biggest fragmentation issues quickly, and then you can do a more lengthy defrag once a week or so.

I like O&O 8 the best. I have tried perfect disk and diskkeeper as well, but they seemed just a tad slower overall plus I dont think the organization was quite as good as w/ O&O.

O&O defrag 8 has some good features, I liked it. I like Perfect Disk 7 more. I tried Diskeeper 10, didn't seem that much faster or better.
