Greetings,
I have downloaded 3dmark06 and I have this big problem! When I execute the shortcut it loads the 3dmark06 splash screen and then my PC reboots. I have even formatted my hard drive and reinstalled just the essentials and I get the same thing happening all over again! Has anyone got a heads up on what the problem may be? I see you have the AV8 mobo, did you happen to install the "BETA VIA IDE Accelerator" driver? I know when I installed this, all futuremark programs (3dmark and pcmark) would crash my system.
Just an idea. ![]() EDIT: Just noticed the date, have you got this problem sorted yet? |

Nope problem is still occuring! I have tried everything from different GPU drivers to installing the Windows XP dual core patches for my X2 and still have no luck. I do have an Av8 mobo though, and your advice sounds good. EDIT: Yes I do have the BETA VIA IDE Accelerator! How do I remove this driver? |

I am not totally sure how to safely remove these drivers, as last time I had the same trouble I formatted my hard drive. First be sure to check Add/Remove for anything VIA related, if nothing relates to the VIA IDE Accelerator then I would suggest the following.
I just did a quick search on google and this is what came up. Hope this helps. 1. Click "Update" versus uninstall drivers in device manager. 2. Click on "Install from list" option 3. Click on "Don't Search" 4. Hopefully there will be a "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE" option. Select it if is available. If it is not you may have to reload XP. 5. It should prompt it needs a reboot. |
