BIOS question

Is it possible to flash your bios with a different type of bios software (i.e. AWARD bios if i don't already have that)... I was wondering because my bios is a piece of crap (standard Intel D865PERL BIOS) and wanted to replace it to allow for more overclocking potential...
Any input would be appreciated!

BIOS are specific to each motherboard. Flashing your motherboard with a different bios from a different manufacturer is not a good idea and will create problems. I'm assuming you have a Dell system or something. You are stuck with the BIOS specific to your mobo from the manufacturer. If it's really a problem, motherboards are pretty cheap, and is a good upgrade to your system.

I actually got this motherboard with my P4 3.0 ghz cpu off of GoogleGear (now called ZipZoomFly), i even have a google gear labeled case! lol... anyways.. I was hoping there'd be some way to play around with the frontside bus settings outside of the bios cuz the bios has absolutely NO settings in it... Any ideas would be awesome!

Like vikingod said a new mobo such as an msi, gigabyte, asus or really any other mobo besides a intel will give you better options. My friend has your mobo but its an msi and he has good oc'ing options.

I think on that board, its locked at the proc's default. I think there is a mod available for your board, do a google search for vcore mod or something. You may also want to check for BIOS compatibility for the mods as well.

Looks they can supply (at a price) a "latest issue" Award BIOS, compiled for any supported motherboard, Just depends if that price is worth it, as compared to perhaps moving your CPU to a better motherboard, and maybe making a second macine with the cheapest CPU you can find for the old one.
